    Chemical Constituents from the Roots of Ilex pubescens.[Reference: WebLink]
    To study the chemical constituents of the roots of Ilex pubescens Hook.et Arn.
    METHODS AND RESULTS:
    Chemical constituents were isolated and purified by several column chromatographic methods.The structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral data.Results Twelve compounds were isolated from the plant.Their structures were identified as ilexoside D(1),ilexgenin A(2),spinasterol(3),(+)-fraxiresinol-1-O-β-D-glucoside(Fraxiresinol 1-O-glucoside,4),liriodendrin(5),tortoside A(6),magnolenin C(7),syningin(8),sinapic aldehyde 4-O-β-D-glucopyrano-side(9),4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid(10),β-sitosterol(11) and β-daucosterol(12),respectively.
    CONCLUSIONS:
    Compounds 3,4 and 10 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
