|Antimicrobial Triterpenoids from Licania heteromorpha.[Reference: WebLink]|
METHODS AND RESULTS:
Six triterpenoids having a lupane and oleane skeleton were isolated from the leaves and young branches of Licania heteromorpha Bentham var. heteromorpha and were identified as: betulinic acid 1, alphitolic acid 2, 3 beta-O-trans-p-coumaroyl alphitolic acid 3, 3 beta-O-cis-p-coumaroyl alphitolic acid 4, 3 beta-O-trans-p-coumaroyl maslinic acid 5, 3-beta-O-(cis-p-Coumaroyl)maslinic acid 6. The antimicrobial activity of these compounds was evaluated in vitro on clinically isolated microorganisms employing a microdilution method.
Compounds 2, 3, 5, and 6 showed antimicrobial activity on Gram-positive bacteria and yeasts, whereas none of the six triterpenoids were active against Gram-negative organisms.

||Providing storage is as stated on the product vial and the vial is kept tightly sealed, the product can be stored for up to 24 months(2-8C).
Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20C. Generally, these will be useable for up to two weeks. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.

||The packaging of the product may have turned upside down during transportation, resulting in the natural compounds adhering to the neck or cap of the vial. take the vial out of its packaging and gently shake to let the compounds fall to the bottom of the vial. for liquid products, centrifuge at 200-500 RPM to gather the liquid at the bottom of the vial. try to avoid loss or contamination during handling.

|To isolate and identify the 3-O-p-coumaroyloxyl pentacyclic triterpenoids from acetoacetate extract of Lysimachia clethroides Duby, which showed significant cancer chemopreventive activities. |
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The 3-O-p-coumaroyloxyl pentacyclic triterpenoids were isolated by using silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH - 20 chromatography MPLC, and Semi-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated with spectroscopic analysis (NMR, MS and IR). Six 3-O-p-coumaroyloxyl pentacyclic triterpenoids were isolated and identified as 3-beta-O-(cis-p-Coumaroyl)maslinic acid(I), 3-O-trans-p-coumaroyl maslinic acid (II), 3-O-cis-p-coumaroyl-2α-hydroxyursolic acid (III), 3-O-trans-p-coumaroyl-2α-hydroxyursolic acid (IV), 3-O-cis-p-coumaroyl tormentic acid (V) and 3-O-trans-p-coumaroyl tormentic acid (VI).
All these compounds were obtained from the Lysimachia Genus for the first time.
