METHODS AND RESULTS:
The chemical constituents of the organic extracts from the rhizomes of Ligusticum porteri were isolated, characterised and identified as Z-ligustilide, Z-butylidenephthalide, diligustilide, Tokinolide B, riligustilide, senkyunolides F and I, ferulic acid, among other known compounds. The preparation of 4,5-dehydroTokinolide B from Tokinolide B is reported, and its structure confirmed by X-ray analysis. The sedative and spasmolytic activities of some of these natural products and derivatives were evaluated by applying them to in vivo and in vitro models.
Several of these dimeric phthalides displayed sedative and spasmolytic properties that may correlate with some popular uses of L. porteri.

Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.

||The packaging of the product may have turned upside down during transportation, resulting in the natural compounds adhering to the neck or cap of the vial. take the vial out of its packaging and gently shake to let the compounds fall to the bottom of the vial. for liquid products, centrifuge at 200-500 RPM to gather the liquid at the bottom of the vial. try to avoid loss or contamination during handling.

|Study on biligustilides from Angelica sinensis.[Pubmed: 19166005]|
|To study the chemical constituents of Angelica sinensis.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The constituents were separated by chromatographic methods, and their structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.
Eight compounds were isolated and identified as levistolide A (1), senkyunolide O (2), (3Z, 3Z')-6.8', 7.3'-diligustilide (3), Tokinolide B (4), isoTokinolide B (5), (3'Z)-(3R, 8S, 3a'R, 6'S)-3, 3a': 8, 6'-biligustilide (6), E, E'-3. 3', 8. 8'-diligustilide (7) and E, E'-3. 3', 8. 8'-isodiligustilide (8), which are all diligustilides.
Compound 7 was obtained from the plant for the first time; compounds 6 and 8 are new compounds.
